What does the application do?

Cost-effective and efficient tool to track the location of several mobile phones in a remote SQL database or in a buddy tracking website.
Aspicore GSM Tracker is an S60 application, which makes the smartphone into a real-time AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) tracking device.
The application determines the location with a GPS receiver and transmits the tracking data to a server in real-time through a cellular packet data connection. The data connection to the server is usually made via the Internet.

System description and purpose

Typically the server computer stores the received tracking data into a SQL database. The data can be visualized with simple map software, (e.g. Google Maps for Enterprise, Google Earth) or it can be linked to a professional fleet management system or a mobile workforce management system.
Individual users can use Aspicore GSM Tracker for personal location tracking. They can e.g. automatically publish their current location and daily track on their web page.
Users can share their current location online with their buddies using the free GpsGate.com service provided by Franson Technology AB.


Features
Adjustable accuracy and data cost

You can configure the timers and events, which trigger the data send action. By default, the data is sent in a compact UDP datagram, only a little over 100 packet data bytes per message. This means that the data transfer costs are minimal compared to e.g. SMS and the communication transactions are very fast.

Cell ID capable

You don't even need necessarily to have as many GPS receivers as tracked mobile phones, if a lower accuracy suffices and there are only a few places or standard routes you want to have recognised. The location of the mobile phone can also be determined by the network cell id, which identifies the cell tower the phone is connected to.

Position polling by SMS

You can use standard SMS to enquire the location of your phone. The location is indentified e.g. by an integrated GPS or by the cell tower.

Autostart

You can set the application to start automatically into the background every time the cell phone is powered up. Once the application is installed and cofigured, the user does not need to take care of it.

Location tracking system possibilities

Central location database

The central database can be a powerful SQL engine running in a desktop or server computer. It handles hundreds of mobile tracking targets. (Depending on the tracking frequency and resolution.) The database accumulates position data from the mobile phones being tracked. Each record in the database is identified by the IMEI code of the phone the data belongs to.
The location data can be collected to an industry standard SQL database. This makes it straightforward to integrate with the rest of your company data systems.

Launch location aware web page in mobile web browser

Customized HTTP server application can automatically show personalized location aware pages on the standard mobile browser. This opens many possibilities to create exciting applications. Aspicore GSM Tracker can run in the background and the user interacts with the custom mobile internet page.

Use cell tower based location estimation

If you are not using a GPS receiver, you must first create a mapping from the network cell ID to a geographical location. Unless you get the cell tower location lists from your mobile operator, you can collect the data yourself by driving around the places you want to have recognised by the system and have Aspicore GSM Tracker with GPS to record the GPS coordinates of the network cells.
When the system is eventually being used, the mobile will report its network cell information to the system server by using Aspicore GSM Tracker. The server compares the network cell information to the accumulated data and converts it to an estimated geographical location. This way you can track your sales representatives, delivery men, children etc without them needing to carry a GPS receiver with them.

The three pages that are created consists of the following: 1) one page with a table of contents and statistics on how many messages you have sent and received, 2) one page that lists all your messages sorted by date and 3) one page that lists all messages sorted by name. The web pages are saved on the memory card in your phone and after the diary has been created you can transfer the web-pages to your pc and store them for future use.

Python for S60 (hereafter PyS60) is intended for developers looking to create programs that use the native features and resources of the S60 phones, using the Python programming language.

About this release

This is the new 1.9.1 development series of PyS60. This release is intended only for S60 3rd edition, S60 3rd edition FP1, S60 3rd edition FP2 and S60 5th edition devices.

Note on versioning: The versioning scheme in PyS60 releases is such that the releases with an even minor version (1.0.x, 1.2.x ...) are "stable" and releases with an odd minor version (1.1.x, 1.3.x ...) are "development" releases. This is thus a development release, meaning that it includes functionality that has not been tested as extensively as the stable releases. This release is provided as a
preview to developers who wish to experiment with Python on S60 before the next final stable release.


What is new when compared with PyS60 1.9.0?

- Better interpreter startup and sis installation time!

- All the Python files in the runtime sis are compiled into .pyc files and included in a zip file. sys.path is updated with the path of this zip file. This reduced the interpreter startup time considerably.

- A more generic error message is displayed when trying to load an application without the PyS60 Dependencies installed.

- Support for building just a <subsystem> is provided. Refer build, build_emu, build_device help of setup.py

- Unlike 1.4.x, a single SDK zip contains both gcce and armv5 link libraries. Separate SDK zips are provided for 3rdEd, 3rdEdFP1 and 3rdEdFP2.

- The default mode of ensymble py2sis command is changed to 'pycore'. All scripts which refer to pys60 modules socket and calendar should use the new names - btsocket and e32calendar to use the S60 functionality in pycore mode. Also renamed "Prioritize PyS60 module library" to "1.4.x compatibility mode" on the UI of application packager.

Calls!nfo is basically a enhanched way of representing the normal call logs in S60 phones. Call!nfo breaks the monotonous way of getting the call logs infomation and gives you details about your logs in a new graphical fashion. Following are the details about the application:

Features:

* Recent Calls:A graphical analysis of your recent incoming and outgoing Calls.
* Calls Distribution:Know the persons who you contacted the most in recent days. It finds 6 most contacted numbers and shows the total call duration of each of them. It compares it to the rest all other calls' duration.
* SMS Info:Now get to know how many SMS you sent to a particular number and know the total umber of SMS sent.
* Estimate Bill:Calculate your monthly amount spent on SMS and Calls and get to know the total bill at the end of the month.
